Analysis
One of the drawbacks of Hampshire Park is its units only comprise of 2+1 bedrooms for units measuring 1,891 sf or even 2,010 sf. With only 2+1 bedrooms, this condominium is not suitable for bigger family even with more than 2 kids. In addition, there are several other options available in the area which offers 3+1 bedrooms with similar price range.
For the mean time, living in the Hampshire neighborhood is really appealing and pampered by lush greenery surrounding the area. But with massive developments and numerous planned projects to be commenced any time soon, the area will turn into a concrete jungle, just like most of residential mushrooming within KLCC vicinity.
Persiaran Hampshire is located between Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Ampang. Both roads are among the worst congested roads in Kuala Lumpur. Only if you are traveling during awkward hours, then you will not suffer the problem. Expect travel time of 10 minutes for each kilometer while you are stuck in the traffic during peak hours.
There are too many residential around Persiaran Hampshire making it the highest density area in the entire KLCC enclave. Also, the rental rate in the area is very competitive. This phenomenon is worsened by the occupancy rate in the area is still below 40%, and most tenants prefer to reside in Persiaran KLCC area due to the sense of residential feel, low density and better KLCC view for the moment.
There was an explosion at Hampshire Park on May 8th 2011 that involved a 61-year old British expat. It is not clear which of the two blocks was affected. It is believed that an incorrect installation that resulted in gas leak at one of the units on the 17th floor was the cause of the tragedy. The incident had blown up almost the entire unit, except for the bathroom. However, the issue was promptly dealt with and there are no outstanding safety issues.
